Hamilton vs Jefferson

We have been studying Washington's First Term as President of the the new USA. He had surrounded himself with very talented people. Two of those talented people are Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. However, those two were at opposite sides of the political agenda. Hamilton's view was for a strong federal government lead by the elite of the American populous. Jefferson on the other hand believed the power should be in the states with the common man. What do you think? Why do you think that way? Which person do you side with and why?

I like that im on Jeffersons side because i beleive the *idea* or *plan* from Hamilton was down right wrong. ALthough Hamilton was the secretary of the Treasury i still dont agree with it. Jefferson is a much better man to be and i would pick him because he is trustworthy, honest, and understandable. I do not understand where how or why Hamilton came up with his idea. I think thats all i have to say.

Personally, I think that each person should have their own vote on the power of the common man. If a person is power-hungry, they would be anti-federalists because they would get more power. Someone who would rather not have the power or is smart enough to know that giving the common man too much power would kill the country should be a strong supporter of the Federalists. Both Hamilton and Jefferson were great men, and both did great deeds while in office, but depending on who you ask, you will be told differently.
I think that the states and the common man should have some power, especially in local and state government, but the Federal Government should be strong and be a counterbalance to the local and state governments. As long as the system of checks and balances is in place, than no one group will be able to take over.

i think that jeffersons plan was better, because each state should have their own power. another state should not be able to control what goes on there or have a part in it. each state should worry about their state.

Mr. Hayner,
i side with jefferson becaus he is easy to understand an is honest. his plan was to give each state a certain amount of power and other states would't be sticking there nose where it dosen't belong.
